One of the biggest concerns for competitive gamers is input lag. Does enabling DLSS 4.5's Frame Generation make your game feel sluggish?
The Short Answer
Yes, but barely noticeble thanks to NVIDIA Reflex. Frame Generation technically adds a small amount of latency because the GPU holds a frame to generate an intermediate one. However, DLSS 4.5 is optimized to keep this penalty to a minimum.
NVIDIA Reflex is Mandatory
When you enable DLSS Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex is force-enabled in supported games. This technology reduces system latency, often offsetting the penalty introduced by frame generation, resulting in a responsive experience.
Recommendation for Competitive Shooters
For games like Call of Duty or Overwatch, we still recommend using DLSS Super Resolution only (without Frame Gen) to ensure the absolute lowest possible latency.
